Samuel Blackwood

Director of Public Policy & Communications

 

Samuel M. Blackwood is the Director of Public Policy & Volunteer Management at Project Ready, who brings extensive experience in grassroots advocacy, public-private partnership collaboration, political strategy, volunteer management, media relations, and voter mobilization.

Before joining Project Ready, Samuel worked at When We All Vote (WWAV), Civic Advisors, and Impact Strategies on projects related to communications strategy, policy development, and voter engagement across the country.

During his time at When We All Vote, Samuel oversaw the organization’s voter engagement work in Georgia during the 2020 general election and Senate runoff. In this role, he cultivated strong partnerships as a liaison to school districts like Atlanta Public Schools and Clayton County Schools, built a team of 800+ My School Votes students and educator volunteers, established My School Votes organizers in more than 55 high schools — including 100% of high schools in Clayton County and 86% of high schools in the Atlanta Public Schools system –registering more than 2,500 students to vote across the state.

Samuel graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in International Studies and Political Science from Fordham University. He is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honors society.
