HOW TO VOTE IN THIS ELECTION

The November 2, 2021 election will not be an all vote-by-mail election.  You can click here to download a sample ballot!

Here’s what you need to know to make your vote count!

  1. Vote early at an early voting location! Early voting is available October 23-31! Find an early voting location: https://nj.gov/state/elections/vote-early-voting.shtml.
  2. Vote in-person at your polling location on November 2! Find your Election Day polling location: https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/polling-place-search
  3. Put your vote-by-mail ballot in the mail, in a secure ballot dropbox, or bring it to the County Clerk’s office before November 2.

  • Call the Essex County Clerk’s office at 973-621-4922.

  • As a registered VBM voter, you can fill out your vote-by-mail ballot, and drop it in an Essex County secure ballot drop box or mailbox by November 2.

This election will impact our schools, students, and our communities. Candidates are running for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, all state legislator seats, and the Essex County Sheriff, who oversees certain aspects of the criminal justice system here in Newark. The leaders who emerge from this election will have a tremendous impact on the future of our communities and students.

Our participation in this election is our commitment to using our voice and our power. We have to engage with all structures that shape public education and other systems that impact life in our city, and those within our community are our best advocates.
